Creating Moments of Joy
Today we are talking about something super simple that will easily uplift your mood, creating moments of joy.
Welcome to Wellness in Every Season. We talk all things wellness regarding the environment that you spend a lot of your time in, your physical health, your intellectual health, your financial health, your spiritual health, professional health, your social health, who you have relationships with, your emotional health.
This is a really big umbrella, so expect all kinds of topics within all of these amazing dimensions of your wellness. Let's dive in
So we live in a day of instant gratification. If you did not realize this, where have you been? And it makes it so that we instantly have ideas of negative reviews that we're going to write or telling people where not to go or reasons to justify feeling dysregulated, in a foul mood, whatever.
But what are we doing in our lives to bring joy back into the world, to bring joy back to ourselves, and to feel like we are taking a moment to simply be So think about that for a second. And there's a point to all of this. Have you ever taken the time to just sit down and go through your maps of locations of where you've been, or think about things that you really enjoy?
Maybe a product, a place you've been, maybe a location you've been to. And think about, if I was to write a really uplifting review, what would it sound like? And then take that one step further and write that review and leave it for that product, that business, that location, like if it's a hike or a really good parking spot, whatever.
And keep going until you feel kind of done with it, exhausted. It is amazing how much it will uplift you knowing that you're helping other people and you're remembering positive experiences. Because we have Our brain is developed this way, where we remember negative experiences, and it was developed this way to protect us.
And sometimes it does a little too good of a job. So remembering positive experiences, reflecting on them, maybe journaling about them, sharing it with other people, it helps us to remember, retain that, get that quick little dopamine hit, and let go of more of the negative. How often have you been around somebody and they instantly wanna tell you all the negative in their life?
I feel yucky after I've been around them, and I avoid them for a little bit afterwards. But it is such a difference to be around somebody who is positive. I feel like the other end of that magnet, I'm just attracted to them. And what I've noticed is that people who are like that, not only are they attracting people to them, they're attracting experiences, they're attracting positivity.
So it's a great way to get more of what you want in your life, if you need a s- more of a selfish reason to do these things. It makes a huge difference in the world, in yourself. And with that in mind, can you do me a favor and also do that for this podcast? Because my goal in creating this is to help other people.
Not everyone can afford coaching emotionally, financially, time-wise. They just don't have the space for it. And this is where the podcast comes in, because you can pick and choose episodes. You can try things on, see if it works for you, and it's at no financial cost to you. Of course, there's the time commitment.
There's the energy commitment, the mental space commitment. But it gives you that chance of trying things out before you decide, "Is this something that I want to do with one-on-one coaching?" And not only am I asking you to leave a review, but share it with your friends. Because we, sometimes without meaning to, hoard things that are really great, great positive experiences.
I wanted to let you know that there are some amazing things happening behind the scenes here that I'm very excited about. The first one is I am opening my podcast up for sponsorships, so if you are an aligned brand with wellness, reach out to me. You can find me wellnessineveryseason.com/podcast/sponsor.
I also have something going on for you listeners. If you've been listening for a while, I interview people who are aligned with wellness, and they talk about the healing modalities and different modalities that they do, but it is in a very descriptive sense. I am making it so that you have the chance to experience it during a recorded episode, and other people get to experience it alongside you so that we can really see how it works.
Instead of just this zoomed-out experience, we get to really zoom in and experience it. So you can find out more about that at wellnessineveryseason.com/listenerwellnessguest.
Maybe it's just because we wanna cherish them a little bit more. Maybe because we are that Energizer bunny and just going and we are moving on to the next thing, that we don't take that pause in between. I know that I tend to do that too, and that is something that I've been focusing on a lot more, is leaving space for the pause and looking forward to the pause when I arrive somewhere a little bit faster than I expected to.
Or when my buffer time actually works and I have that little bit of space to breathe before my next appointment, my next whatever I have going on. It makes such a big impact, especially if I'm not picking up my phone right away . So Think about that.
Did you have an amazing recipe that you tried out? I'd love to hear about it, for one thing. Love food. Share that with somebody. Did you have a positive experience with maybe your hairstylist? So you want to recommend that specific hairstylist rather than the whole company. Or do you know that this cashier at this place is like the one to go to to help you?
Or maybe share that there's construction on the road so other people know about it. What is it that you can share that can uplift other people, knowing that you're also uplifting yourself? This is something that I enjoy doing when I feel like garbage and I'm kind of stuck on the couch, and I just need something to uplift myself, and I wanna share joy around me, is I'll go through my Google Maps of places where I've been or I'll go through some of my purchases, and I'll leave review of the different items.
And along with that, what I've loved other reviewers have done is, "If you like this, you'll like this even better," or, "This did not work, but I found this worked." I've had reviewers that have saved me so much energy and time and money and blah blah blah, that I try to do the same as well, and it just is that extra like, "Hey, I'm paying it forward" idea.
So short and sweet with lots of homework in there. Start where you are at. Start where you wanna be. Think about where you wanna be, and then go from there. Maybe you need to pull up your phone and just scroll through it a little bit and, "You know what? I really enjoyed this. I wanna share this with somebody else."
Or maybe it's this podcast. You just share away, and you say why you like it. The whole point in this podcast is to make sure that you have so many opportunities in front of you that you can pick and choose and try on different things and see if it makes you better off, more well off for wellness than you were before.
This world can feel very one-size-fits-all. We are all on our own unique journeys, but our paths touch along the way. So we have an opportunity to share. We have an opportunity to experience. We have an opportunity to try things. And some things will work for a while, and they've stopped working, and we need to switch it out for something else.
And that is why you have different episodes to choose from. I will see you in the next one.
Thank you so much for joining our discussion. If you enjoyed this, please like, subscribe, most of all, share the love with others. Please share this episode so that we can help other people really recalibrate every aspect of their lives so they can be the best version of themselves, and I will see you in the next episode.
I want to have my quick disclaimer here that this is not a one-size-fits-all. If you want one-on-one coaching, let's talk, and we will make sure what wellness means to you is really put into your life, put into practice. I am using my undergrad in applied health and my life coaching experience to bring this podcast to you
